Rocky Mountain Hi!

Spend most of last week in Denver, Colorado attending the Case Management Course at the National Veterans Training Institute, UC Denver.  Learned a lot.  Great view of the Rocky Mountains all week long.

It's spring already?  These are some of the azaleas in my yard.  Was in the low 80's yesterday.

Time In The Woods

The day before we left Spokane, Elke and Dad took us for a drive around the Spokane area.  We drove down along the Spokane River and spotted a number of mule deer bedding down in the trees along the river.  Did not expect to see them.  What a treat!  We had a great visit that week, and seeing the deer so close was the nuts on top of the sundae! By the way, these shots really were taken this year.  The batteries ran out in the camera, and I never adjusted the date on the camera.

A Day in the Park

Took a trip to the park in downtown Spokane. This is where the World's Fair was held. I recognized a few of the structures. Met an overly friendly squirrel who was not the least bit shy.

Time with Family

The main purpose of our trip to Spokane was to spend time with Robyn's dad Carl, his wife Elke and as many family members as we could. Had a neat time meeting Elke's grands and two of her daughters. Also got to see Robyn's siblings who all live in the Pacific Northwest. Great visit!

Snow, Snow, Beautiful Snow

Had a lovely time at Dad and Elke's back in January. One fun part was all the snow. Amazing how much you can enjoy snow, when you don't have to live a whole winter in it!

Spokane Trip Continued

A few more photos of the trip to Spokane. Right off the bat we went to have dinner at a casino near the airport. Great food. The weather was starting to turn blustery with a few flakes of snow. A harbinger of days to come?

Trip to Spokane, Installment One

Robyn and I had the pleasure of flying out to Spokane, Washington this past month. We visited with her father, Carl and his wife, Elke. We were hoping to see some snow, and we were not disappointed. More about that later. After a short hop to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport we quickly boarded a Delta 767 bound for Salt Lake City. Had a very smooth flight. Flew over some snow covered fields in the midwest and over the Greater Denver area. (I will be going to Denver in March) Next installment will cover SLC to Spokane.
